Who We Are: From St. Catharines to Otherness

· The Band

Some bands you hear once and never forget. We hope that's us. Here's a short look at who we are and where our songs come from.

Where do we come from?

We formed in late 2001 in St. Catharines, Ontario, a city in the Niagara Region known as the Garden City for its parks and gardens. The band grew out of the break-up of three local bands and quickly became one of the loudest names in Canadian post-hardcore.

Who is in the band?

The line-up is George Pettit on vocals, Dallas Green on vocals and guitar, Wade MacNeil on guitar and vocals, Chris Steele on bass and Jordan Hastings on drums. Jordan joined in 2005, taking over from original drummer Jesse Ingelevics. The mix of George's screams and Dallas's clean singing is what many people fell for first.

What have we released?

Five studio albums so far:

  • Alexisonfire (2002)
  • Watch Out! (2004)
  • Crisis (2006)
  • Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009)
  • Otherness (2022)

Our debut went gold in Canada, and Watch Out! went gold within twelve weeks and platinum in 2007. We won the Juno for New Group of the Year in 2005, and Otherness won the Juno for Rock Album of the Year in 2023.

Did we really break up?

Yes. The split was announced in 2011 and we played a farewell tour in December 2012. We came back in 2015, and Otherness, our first album in thirteen years, followed in 2022.

Wear the story

Our designs pull from every part of that story, from the heartskull to Garden City pride. Browse the collection and find your piece.
